FILE 01 The Legend

The vicarage at Borgvattnet, built in 1876, accumulated reports across generations of residents: a woman in grey seen in the upstairs window by the first vicar's household, laundry torn down, loaves knocked from tables, and — in the best-known story from the 1920s–40s — a baby carriage that moved by itself. The vicarage is now a museum with overnight stays and issues a certificate to guests who survive the night.

FILE 02 The Sightings Log

Visitors report rocking chairs moving, doors opening, cold spots and a woman in grey at the window. The house runs ghost dinners and investigations; dozens of guest testimonials and photographs of light anomalies are on display inside. Local clergy historically blessed the house more than once.

FILE 03 The Skeptic’s File

Nothing about Borgvattnet survives independent testing — the testimonials are self-selected guests at a business that sells the experience. The most honest observation: the phenomena are always experienced at night, in an old wooden building that creaks, in a village with nothing else to draw visitors. The certificate is the point. But the three-generation consistency of the earliest accounts is more than most haunted houses can claim.
