Case File No. 046

  1. The Legend
  2. The Sightings Log
  3. The Skeptic’s File

FILE 01 The Legend

Estes Park, gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Stanley Hotel's home town, carries its own file: the 1907 Park Theatre (America's highest-altitude movie palace), the Dunraven's open-flame restaurant site, and the downtown buildings from the town's 1905–1915 boom. Its legends are locals' stories — a banker's ghost in the old First National building, the theatre's projectionist — layered under the Stanley's giant shadow.

FILE 02 The Sightings Log

The Park Theatre's projectionist ghost messes with equipment; the old Stratosphere-era downtown rooms above shops produce footsteps and presences. The Stanley's overflow guests downtown report moving the Stanley's famous phenomena with them — children's laughter downtown mirrors the hotel's file.

FILE 03 The Skeptic’s File

Estes Park's downtown ghosts live in the Stanley's shadow and inherit its tourism gravity — every report is a small-town story told in a company town for ghost tourism. Nothing downtown is documented beyond age and atmosphere. The town's file is a 'C' by evidence but a solid 'B' by tradition — the projectionist and banker stories are told as local heritage, not commerce.
